Ready to squash some bugs? The long-awaited demo of Bug Squashers from Impossibly Creative Games is here! Join Iggy on his quest to eliminate bugs and other issues that plague the Internet from inside the computer. The demo walks players through a brief tutorial level and a pared-down version of the game's first level. It is now available on The Retro Verse and here on Itch.

After playing the game, players can visit bugsquashersgame.com and leave helpful feedback that can help improve the game before the launch later this year.

About Bug Squashers

Bug Squashers is a side-scrolling platformer made to play on the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). The game adds a few modern mechanics, like the ability to dash and double jump, but still keeps its retro vibe. Players can play the game on original hardware and PC when the game launches later this year.

About Impossibly Creative Games      

Impossibly Creative Games was founded in 2024 by Alexis Soucie and her wife, Lindsey. Years ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Alexis attended Full Sail University to become a video game designer. When she finished college, jobs were difficult to come by, and with bills needing to be paid, that dream had to be put on hold. 

Alexis taught herself a different kind of coding focused on web development. After a few years in the agency world, she used those skills to start Impossibly Creative in 2015. Alexis used her creative, out-of-the-box thinking to build and even design some of her clients' websites, but the dream of creating a video game always lingered in the back of her mind. In 2024, Alexis discovered NES Maker and began falling in love with the idea of creating a NES game. The NES was her first video game console, and building something to play on it would be an absolute dream come true for her. 

Alexis, with the help of her wife Lindsey, decided to throw caution to the wind and go for it. The idea for the game was something that she'd been kicking around for a while. Bug Squashers was born; hopefully, the rest will be in history.
