Bug Crashers

The first in our "Bug Squashers: Arcade Origins" series, Bug Crashers takes the original Mario Bros. arcade gameplay and adds a bit of modern flair - story, boss fights, online multiplayer (hopefully, no promises). It's the classic gameplay you've loved since the 80s, but taken to the next level.

Here you'll see the birth of Iggy's move set, but with limited uses that require a bit more strategy. Multiple game modes increase replayability, while the simple to pick up, difficult to master gameplay keeps you wanting to keep playing like you had infinite quarters at the arcade.

Currently, the plan is for a PC release here on Itch as well as Steam and other PC platforms, but we're already investigating an NES port and maybe, just maybe, a few other classic consoles like the Commodore64 and Atari 7800.

While full development has only just begun, we've added the initial prototype for download to give you a little tease of what's to come.
